Hilltop Water Features

Hilltop Water Features is a locally owned Family Business... because of this many of our clients we also consider friends.  I know that this sounds like a marketing line put together by some large corporation in the effort of sounding "small town" to sell more product.  With us however this is simply not the case.  We are directly affiliated with Hilltop Hatcheries on rt. 6 in Corry.  So much so that it is run by my wife Holly and her father George.  Here is how the usual cycle works.  A customer finds us through a friend or through advertising and they decide to put in a small pond.  They then end up at Hilltop Hatcheries to buy more fish and plants to further develop their feature.  Within a couple of years they are out once a month for fewer products and more conversations with other pond owners.  In year 2-4 they look to expand their existing pond to something bigger or to add on additional waterfalls or streams.  By this point they are coming to our annual Memorial Day Party at our home and we know the names of their fish.  We could try to become more "corporate" in our nature but that would not be true to ourselves.  Insteal I think I'll stick to this laid back lifestyle that spending too much time by my pond brings.  

By the way;  my current pond system is in it's 5th year of existance and is about to undergo it's 3rd and final major renovation.  You see, it was never big enough.  I started out small as many people do.  Within a year I added a second linked pond.  The summer after that I added on 35 more feet of stream and a bog filter in the side yard.  As for this summer my lovely wife has declared that this will be the last improvement and we are going to go all of the way.  I am adding on a new 16ft x 21ft  pond with a connecting channel and a 6ft wide waterfall on the opposite side of the yard.  All of this and we live on a city lot.  As you can see I don't build ponds because I have to, I do it because I LOVE to.  There is nothing more fulfilling than making your hobby into your work and sharing your hobby with others.
